The “Umiyama Market” will be held at Oike Ryokuchi Park. Come experience the Umiyama Market in this nature-rich venue, which changes its appearance with the passing of the seasons.

At the Umiyama Market in September—where you can still feel the lingering warmth of summer and the first breezes of fall—you’ll find “grapes,” a seasonal delight at the height of their season. These are Shine Muscat grapes, carefully cultivated by Sakaguchi Farm, a grape grower in Tsurumi, Bizen City.

In addition, a special event titled “Tsurumi Eggplant Seed Harvesting Experience” is scheduled to take place. Tsurumi eggplants have been cultivated continuously since the Meiji era. They are one of only five “traditional vegetables” recognized in Okayama Prefecture. Mr. Matsuo, a farmer who grows Tsurumi eggplants, will be making an appearance. The eggplants used for seed harvesting are about three times the size of the ones we usually see.
In this park, rich in natural beauty and with the signs of fall in the air, you can enjoy shopping and hands-on activities.
